Select Storage Source & Browse Folders

Open the app sidebar and tap Local Storage. Choose your primary music collection folder (e.g. /Music/Albums). FastMediaSorter indexes folders without moving your files.

Queue Tracks & Adjust Playback Order

Long-press any album or individual track and choose Add to Queue. Use the floating mini-player at the bottom to reorder tracks or toggle shuffle and repeat.

Pro-Tip: Background Audio Playback

FastMediaSorter continues playback seamlessly when the screen is locked or when you switch apps, using battery-efficient Media3 background services.

Caution: OEM Battery Optimizers

Some vendor devices (Xiaomi MIUI, Samsung OneUI) aggressively kill background services. Add FastMediaSorter to Battery > Unrestricted to prevent playback pauses.

Note: NoLegal Edition Differences

The NoLegal edition includes built-in standalone audio decoders without relying on Google Play services.
